Characters

• Mrs.Frisby - a widow and mother of four children.
• Cynthia - the youngest and always frightened.
• Timothy - the next to the youngest and very
  frail.
• Martin - the oldest and strongest.
• Teresa - the next to the oldest and very caring
  for Timothy.
• Mr. Ages - has all the medicine and is very old.

Setting

• Mr Fitzgibbons farm - all over the farm lived
  intelligent rats and a lone mouse family.
• The rosebush- this is where the rats live
• Mrs. Frisbys house

Problem

• Mrs. Frisbs youngest son has pneumonia. They
  live right in the path of the spring plowing
  machine. Timothy wont be able to move for at
  least a month. They may plow in 4 or 5 days.

Important Details

• Timothy gets terribly sick and Mrs. Frisby
  travels across the farm to the medicine mouse,
  Mr. Ages.
• On her way back she rescues a crow and the crow
  promises to do any favor she needs done.
• She visits the great, wise owl by a lift from the
  crow, to see how to save her son, and he tells
  her to go see the rats that live in the rosebush.

Important Details (cont.)

• The rats will do the favor if she will put
  sleeping powder in the cats food to keep the cat
  from eat them.
• She gets caught by the Fitzgibbbons son, and
  while they were eating dinner, heard them talking
  about something to kill the rats. Justin, the
  guard rat, later saves her.
• The rats move Mrs. Frisbys house at 1100 that
  night by using a strong piece of metal and a
  pulley.

Important Details ( cont.)

• People from NIMH, where the intelligent rats come
  from, come and try to kill the rats, but they
  only kill two since the rats were ready for them.
  One of the them might have been Justin.
• Mrs. Frisby and her four children leave for their
  summer home after Timothy is well.

Ending

• Mrs. Frisbys home was saved and Timothy got
  better after a few months of healing. In the fall
  they could come home and not have to fix up their
  home again. All the rats get to safety and start
  a new life.

My Opinion

• I liked this book and would recommend this to a
  friend, because it is suspenseful and good for
  animal lovers.

• I learned that if you worry you will not succeed.
