The Great White Sharks
  • Where do they live?
  • The Great White Sharks mainly live in most
coastal temperate waters, and have been known to
make dives into the deep water of some open
    oceans.
  • These Sharks live shallow Ocean coast as three
feet to twelve 1280 metres or 4,199 feet.
  • They are found in the following oceans
  • California to Alaska, the East Coast of the USA
  • Most of the Gulf coast, Hawaii, most of South
    America
  • South Africa, Australia (except the north coast)
  • New Zealand, Mediterranean Sea
  • West Africa to Scandinavia, Japan, and
  • The eastern coastline of China to Russia

3
What is a biome?
  • According to Dr. Douglas Long, it describes and
illustrates the behavior and habitat of the great
    white shark (Carcharodon carcharias), and
includes colour and black and white images.

4
What type of Biome do they live?
  • The type of biomes Great White live in are the
coastal and offshore waters where the sea surface
temperatures range between twelve to twenty four
degree Celsius. They may come from surface waters
to depths of 1280 metres to shore and enter small
bays from off distant oceanic islands.

5
What do they eat?
  • The Great White Sharks are not only important
predators in the marine ecosystem, but their
favorite preys are seals and sea lions. When they
are not fully-grown up they eat fish, and rays.
  • When they become fully-grown, they eat marine
animals such as whales, seals, dolphins, large
tuna fish, sea otters, and dead animals that they
    find floating on the surface.

6
What is their niche?
  • The Great White Sharks niches are very
unpredictable, in terms of catching its food and
in terms of attacking its prey. When they spot a
shape of a seal they charge full speed and ram
the prey and it a first bite all in one motion
will stuns and injures the prey. It then
disappears and allows the prey to bleed to death
when a certain preys dead it begins to feed. The
Great White Sharks dont chew their food, they
just rip it into mouth-sized pieces and swallow
it whole. A big meal can last a shark up to two
    months.

7
Who are there predators or enemies?
  • The Great White Sharks predators are seals, sea
lions, and the occasional dolphin, theyve been
known to swallow lots of other things.
  • Who are there enemies?
  • The Great White Sharks enemies are orcas and
sea lions that attack them ferociously. It has
seen that Sea lions have thrown them in the air
like a Frisbee. Perhaps the greatest enemy of The
    Great White Sharks is Man.
