General Statement
Sea lions are a type of mammal. They live in the
waters around southern Australia. They breed on
land, in large groups called colonies.

Appearance

• Seals have a thick coat of very fine hair, long
  whiskers and tiny ears. Their legs have evolved
  into flippers.

Habitat

• They live on beaches.
  They spend most of their time out in
  the ocean. In spring and summer they come
  onto rocky shores to breed.

Diet And Habits

• The Sea Lion eats fish, lobster and octopus.
  They love to eat penguins. They love to play
  together and always stay in a group. After they
  have a nice swim they come on the rocks to
  sunbake .

Life cycle and stages of growth

• Sea Lions live to be 20 years old.
• They have 3 names for their life cycle.
• Adult males are called bulls, females are cows
  and babies are called pups. Cows give live birth
  to pups and feed them milk.
