• This year has gotten off to a wonderful start
  and were very glad to have this opportunity to
  meet you all. Youve sent us a great group of
  kids to work with this year. Thanks for all you

7th Grade Science

• This year in Science we will be covering 4 broad
  topics
• Atmosphere and Weather
• Human Body Systems
• Genetics
• Physics Motion and Forces

Interactive Notebook

• You should have already seen a 5 subject notebook
  coming home for science
• Students are to take class notes on right hand
  pages
• Left hand pages are for Sinker activities that
  are listed in the front of the notebook
• Blank pages should be rare, so thats an easy way
  to check on your childs progress.

Service Projects

• Each Sunfish student is required to complete 8
  hours of service by January 18th
• If you have not seen a service project
  information sheet, please ask your child about it
• I will pass along opportunities to the students
  as I receive them.

Book Bag Buddies

• Program to provide school supplies to students in
  Mississippi who must travel an hour to the
  nearest store to buy school supplies.
• Each completed book bag will be worth 1 hour
  towards completion of the service project goal.

SmartBoards

• Broad Creek has purchased several SmartBoards for
  use by teachers throughout the year. This
  technology puts control of a desktop computer
  right in front of you for presentations,
  demonstrations, and effective use of technology.
