Notes
  • Reco output by boss6.0.0 could be displayed.
    (digi.root by jobOption_rec.txt)
  • besvis could run only on lxplus01(redhat7.3),
could NOT run on lxplus03 or some other nodes
    with sl305 for the moment
  • You need to open a new terminal for display, as
it used ROOT 4.03.02 which conflicts with
    ROOT4.04.02 in boss6.0.0

3
  • After reconstruction, you have a digi.root, you
    want to display it
  • Open a new terminal and connect to
    lxplus01.ihep.ac.cn
  • Go to the directory where your digi.root
    locates
  • source /ihepbatch/besdata/public/youzy/besvis/1.0
    .1/rh73_gcc32/besvis.csh
  • Type besvis.exe
  • A window pops up
  • ( pictures on next page)

4
  • Double click geom_v.0.0_060428.root to load
    geometry, which takes 5 sec

5
  • Press Open Event File button to pop up
    a window,
  • double click the file (digi.root) you want to
    display

6
  • Now you get the display of first event in
digi.root You may need XY view only, now press
XY view button or Switch Display mode
    button

7
  • Now you get XY view only, press ZoomIn button
to expand or enter zoom ratio directly

8
  • When you need to display mdc only, goto DST
column and click all ticks with other subsystem
hits and tracks to cancel them

9
  • When mouse on Select Tool mode, put
mouse on track or wires to show related info,
wires color changed when its related track is
    selected.

10
  • If you wont show the tag with info of a track,
    click Show Info button,
  • click again to show it again.

11
  • Goto Detector and click wire tick to show all
    wires in mdc.
  • (Drawing all wires is time consuming!! now close
    this tick)

12
  • Click Hand Tool button to move the pad,
with Zoom button to go to the details
    that you are interested in.

13
  • Click Select Tool button and put mouse
on a wire to show info of this digi, its color
    will change.

14
  • Anytime you want to save a picture, press G on
your keyboard to pop up a window for saving
    picture, .gif format is recommended.

15
  • A small trick here, press Cancel now, and you
could move the tag to a better place, press G
    again to save it.

16
  • Now you get a 1.gif file.

17
  • Goto Event and press Next to show the second
    event

18
  • Some other subsystems

19
  • ZR view

20
  • 3D view

21
  • When on 3D view, press OpenGL button
to pop up an OpenGL view

22
  • Or X3D button to pop up an X3D view
(OpenGL and X3d are quite slow)

23
  • If you want to show MC data only, comment out all
rec lines and leave only jobOptions_Save2Root.txt
active, to convert ASCII MC data to digi.root,
    and open it in besvis

24
Some notes
  • Besvis could run on other lxplus machine so long
as its system is RedHat 7.3.
  • I have no idea how many lxplus machines with
    rh73 are available
  • Fortunately, rec output with ROOT4.04.02 could be
    read by besvis using ROOT4.03.02
  • However, since geom package changes a lot and
still has a lot of bugs in 4.04.02, update to
ROOTv5 is necessary but not urgent.
  • Any problem, inform me youzy_at_hep.pku.cn
