RESULTS
Eight participants (2 males, 6 females) Mean
age 13.5 (2.6, range 10-17 years) all had
thermal burns greater than 2 years. Dependent
Variables Control (non-massage tissue), Massage
(massaged tissue) Independent Variables Mood
(MOOD), Circumference (CIRC), Range-of-Motion
(ROM) All analyses were computed using SAS
results were deemed significant when plt
0.05. TEST 1 - Dependent t test tested
differences between POSTTEST (after massage) and
PRETEST (before massage) each day (D1, D2, D3,
D4, D5) of independent variables (MOOD, CIRC,
ROM) TABLE 1 Massage Group Means (STD ERR).
DAY MOOD CIRC ROM D1 1.0 (0.58) -1.03

indicates insufficient data negative sign
indicates loss (positive number indicates
gain). RESULTS In massaged tissue, no
significant differences existed between POST and
PRETEST each day of the variables MOOD or CIRC.
Dependent t test comparing POST and PRETEST on
day 5 (D5) revealed a significant difference in
ROM. (Please contact us for further information
