How it Works
The Stay in the Bay concept is based upon the
fundamental principle that every business which
sells a product, service or commodity in the
Western Bay of Plenty, also has to purchase a
number of other products, services or commodities
in order to function as a business.
The Stay in the Bay portal has designed a process
to mix and match the buying andselling
requirements of different companies in the
Western Bay of Plenty business community
  • We collect these buying requirements to provide
an ongoing and current list of contractswhich
other businesses in the Western Bay of Plenty can
    tender for

Because the whole system is based on web
technology, the Stay in the Bay portal is
open for business, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Stay in the Bay is the first regional
e-marketplace to be established in Australasia
8
How it Works
Any business with a base in the Western Bay of
Plenty can sign up to join the Stay in the Bay
portal. For a small annual subscription, use of
the Stay in the Bay portal is unlimited. There is
no limit to the number of Buying Requirements
that can be placed on the portal by any one
business, or the number of tenders that any one
business can pitch for
By adopting the ANZSIC codes as the basis of
business registration, every sector of
the Western Bay of Plenty economy is accommodated
by the Stay in the Bay portal
  • To sign up, businesses simply have to visit
    www.stayinthebay.co.nz and complete the online
  • registration form. A secure login username and
password is issued to each business at the
  • point of registration. Trading can begin
    immediately.

Members of Priority One are entitled to a 25
discount on the cost of the annual subscription
9
How it Works
Once online, businesses can manage their own Stay
in the Bay account by simply logging in with
their own unique username and password
Individual businesses can update their Company
Profile which is available to anyone to
view. This enables businesses to advertise their
product or service to the wider business
community.
  • Businesses can place multiple Buying Requirements
on the portal to manage all their supply
  • needs. Multiple users can be set-up to allow
larger businesses to map their own procurement
systems. A detailed audit of past Buying
Requirements is available in each businesss
    secure account area.

Businesses can tender for as many contracts of
they wish in their own Area of Trade
