44 children from Year 5 and 6, went to Normandy
for an adventure of a life time and a
unforgettable experience!!!

The American Cemetery was really amazing, because
the crosses were in perfect straight lines. We
went there on Tuesday. There was over 10,000
gravestones.

The Chateau
The Chateau was really cool. Its grounds were
big. The rooms that we stayed in were great. They
even had their own en suite. The dining room was
well set out.

French Cuisine
On Wednesday we had the chance to try frogs legs
and snails. Those snails look nice Lucy! I think
Faye might disagree with me though.

THE GOAT'S CHEESE FARM
When we visited the goats cheese farm, on
Tuesday, we had the chance to meet the goats. At
the back of the farm we saw two baby goats. They
spent all the time sucking Roses finger! We also
saw a donkey called Lizette. We saw how the
cheese was made. At the end we watched a video
about the goats. Finally we tried four different
cheeses.

THE MAISY BATTERY
When we visited the maisy battery, we saw some
tanks. We went inside a tunnel, it was really
dark, but fun. Looks like the Matthews are
really enjoying it! AAAAAAHHHHHH!! Ellie, Kate
and Sophie are they the enemy?

THE DISCO
Everyone really enjoyed the disco. The French
school came to join us at 8pm. They were really
friendly. I thought the DJs, were really funny.

THE JOURNEY
We left the school at 030am on Monday 7th April.
The bus company was late! After a little wait, we
were off! We stopped at Peterborough, and changed
driver, he was called Billy. When we arrived in
Folkestone, we found out that the Euro Tunnel had
had a power failure. We ended up waiting for 3
hours! Then we went on the ferry! We arrived at
the Chateau at 830pm ( french time.)

The Boulangerie
At the boulangerie we made some French baguette.
We used water, flour, leaven and salt. There
was a really cute dog there called Baboose. That
bread looks nice Sam!

The 360 degree cinema
When we went to the 360 degree cinema, in
Arromanches, we saw a video clip that was about
life as a soldier. It was extremely loud! Also it
kept doing flash backs of Normandy beaches today.
After that we went back to the bus to get our
money, to go SHOPPING!!!

shopping in
We went shopping in Arromanches, after the
cinema. We walked round in our groups. Harriet
bought a drinking hat. Mrs Dillons and Mrs
Williamsons group went on a Carrousel, funny for
year sixs! We all enjoyed our day shopping.

GIANT CLUDEO
The pupils from Years 5 and 6 spilt up into
teams, in which they had to complete several
tasks to gain clues. After all three groups had
made there way through three tasks. They found
the answer, but it was not the true one. In fact
Crazy Nut and Pirate, were both innocent! It was
in .. THE COOK!!!!! As a punishment he got
soaked!
A giant cludeo has been set up in the Chateau du
Molay, Normandy. For the Whickham Parochial
School, who are visiting from England. Bobby the
painter has lost his painting. He has two prime
suspects, Crazy Nut and Pirate. They have just
been let out of the Mental hospital
