MOTOR EFFICIENCY The efficiency of a motor is the
ratio of its useful power output to its total
power input and is usually expressed in a
percentage. Marathon Electric offers standard,
high efficient (Series E), and premium efficient
(XRI) ratings. Our Series E motor line is in
compliance with the Energy Policy Act of 1992
(EPACT). Our XRI line is a premium efficiency
line which exceeds the mandated efficiency of
EPACT. Standard efficiency motors may only be
used on applications that are exempt from EPACT.
