Title: Globalization

Skirt Tag
  • This skirt was made in India out of recycled
Saris. I purchased this skirt in Portland, Maine
in a store called Mexi Cali Blues.
  • This store contains all products that were
manufactured in India, but have been sent over to
other countries, in hopes to broaden their
    market.
  • This is an example of globalization because the
manufacturers of these products are manufacturing
their products with intent on selling them in
    other countries.

Ani Difranco CD
  • These pictures of the trees that appear on the CD
cover are trees from Nagasaki, Japan. The tree in
the top picture is the oldest tree in the world.
  • The majority of the songs on the CD were written
in Nagasaki and they raise awareness to what the
current issues are in the city.
  • Most of Anis CDs raise awareness of many global
issues that are occurring. Ani Difranco is very
involved in different devoloping countries and is
concerned about making her fans aware of what is
    going on in the world.

Wallet Tag License
  • This picture displays a wallet that has been made
in Indonesia with a New Brunswick license below
    it.
  • I took this picture because it is a good example
of a broadening market. These wallets were
manufactured in Indonesia but are being sold
profusely in Canada and in other countries as
    well.
  • Not only are selling these wallets in other
countries an example of market broadening but
also it is broadening the Indonesian culture.

5
Corporations
  • Corporations have been steadily been taking over
many national countries, for example Wal-Mart.
  • It doesn't seem proper that corporation can
actually take over countries but it is happening
and it doesn't look like its going to slow down.
  • People today seem more interested in material
things that is why this is happening at such a
    rapid speed.

6
Technology
  • The picture of this computer represents the
technology and how it has been a major impact on
    the outcome of globalization.
  • Without the technology we have today it would
make it much more difficult for corporations to
handle all of their money and products.
  • Technology is the backbone for globalization
because it makes everything run smooth, and its
a lot more effective than the older days of
globalization, that is why its so much bigger
    and productive now.

7
Economy
  • I took this picture to show how gas prices can
have a positive and negative effect on the
    economy.
  • When gas prices are higher, it forces people not
to drive as much so they car pool and it reduces
gas emissions put in the air.
  • The advantages of lower gas prices are that it
attracts tourists because people will want to
    travel more.
  • Gas prices have been at an all time low since
    hurricane Katrina and Rita
  • Lower gas prices would be good for globalization
because it would cost less to do imports and
    exports.

Oromocto Municipal offices
  • When I took this picture, I was thinking about
how every town or city has their own set of rules
based upon their respected municipal government.
  • Municipal government affects globalization
because they help out with water treatments and
the way that our town or cities are run.
  • Municipal offices also help fund costs of all
things that go on in and around the local economy.

9
Corporations
  • Corporations have been steadily taking over many
    national countries, for example Wal-Mart.
  • It doesn't seem proper that corporations can
actually take over countries but it is happening
and it doesn't look like its going to slow down.
  • People today seem so interested in material
things and this is why this is happening at such
    a rapid speed.
