Division 2 strategy
  • Coordinated and cohesive policy approach to
    division 2 nurses in Victorian public health
    services.
  • Purpose
  • To meet nurse workforce and service demand in a
    changing health and demographic context
  • Aim
  • To increase the number of division 2 nurses
    employed in Victorias public health services
  • To better deploy and utilise division 2 nurses in
    the nursing team to deliver health services

Central tenets.
  • Div 2 roles and practice meet local and
    system-wide need, are consistent with their
    training and level of competence, and align with
    any guidance for nurses by the Nurses Board of
    Victoria
  • Div 2 nurses are valued members of the nursing
    team, who work as associates to division 1 nurses
    in contexts where their practice and roles are
    safely supported to ensure the best outcomes for
    health consumers

    through consultation and working collaboratively
    with the key industry, professional and
    government stakeholders.
  • An integrated and cohesive approach provides
    policy direction to guide public investment and
    focuses activity to achieve practical and
