The relations between EACCME and ESAB (European
Specialty Accreditation Boards)
  • The problem of UEMS special Boards accreditation
deal with the time of accreditation given by
European Specialty Accreditation Boards and the
    UEMS Sections Accreditation Boards.
  • The quality of ESAB accreditation was also
enphasised by the representatives of the
    Specialty Accreditation Societies.

8
ESAB and NAA (National Accreditation Authorithies)
  • In providing European credits under any
circumstance the role of National Authorithies or
    professional UEMS Sections Accreditation Board
    cant be discussed.
  • No Specialty Accreditation Board can operate
withouth the aggreement and recognition of
    National Authorithies.

9
The problems with International Accreditation
  • The most important problem relies in the prompt
consideration of the request for CME credits by
the UEMS Section of competence and on the invoice
of EACCME accreditation once the request is
    accomplished.
  • A better accomplishment of the Sections duties
should enhance the importance of the EACCME and
permit the accreditation with respect to the
    National Authorithies under which supervision
most of the work of EACCME was successfully done.

Looking at the future
  • An effort must be done in order to keep easy and
    practic European accreditation.
  • This should be accomplished with the efforts of
all involved bodies, but under the umbrella of
    European accreditation.
  • The revenues can be used to meliorate the process
and an Internet basis should be used to share
    common projects.
