International Definition of Nursing Informatics

• Nursing Informatics is a combination of computer
  science, information science and nursing science
  designed to assist in the management and
  processing of nursing data, information and
  knowledge to support the practice of nursing and
  the delivery of nursing care worldwide

• Access to information is a basic tenet of a
  developing nation
• Efforts to increase information technology,
  improve health, and decrease poverty are
  complementary, not competitive
• A MDG that cannot be measured cannot be met nor
  missed.
