Scope of Effort Integrated Disease Surveillance
Network

• Ministry of Health Laboratories (Phase 2)
• Consolidate pathogens at the Ukrainian Research
  and Anti-Plague Institute (URAPI) in Odesa while
  the CRL is being constructed
• Consolidate and store all dangerous pathogens at
  the Central Reference Laboratory (CRL) once
  constructed (location TBD)
• TBD Enhanced Oblast Labs (Epidemiology
  Monitoring Stations EMS)
• Some will require major renovations others only
  equipment
• TBD Oblast Labs upgrades with tailored
  equipment lists
• Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Academy of
  Agrarian Sciences Laboratories (Phase TBD)
• MAP are at this date not signatories to BTRIA but
  in process
• TBD Enhanced Zonal Laboratories requiring some
  renovations and equipment

Human Diagnostic Training Strategy

• Specialized training for handling Rickettsia
  collection for staff of Odesa API
• Biosafety, biosecurity and bioethics for staff at
  CSES, URAPI, LRIEH, and Odesa Oblast SES
• Specialized training for designated biosafety
  officers from each facility
