    processes, devices, procedures, and informatics

    bioengineering modalities, including imaging,

    implementation of the statute
  • seeking approval to transfer 1.975 million in FY
    2001 funds to the new Institute

    bioengineering communities
  • developing budget request for FY 2002 as part of
    overall NIH budget formulation

    activities appropriate for transfer to new
    Institute in FY 2002
  • recruitment of permanent Director
  • establishment of an Advisory Council and
    development of slate of members for appointment
    by new DHHS secretary
