FAMILY HISTORY ___ Women who have a family
history of high blood pressure are at increased
risk of developing high blood pressure during
pregnancy. Have your blood pressure checked every
six months. ___ A family history of diabetes
and/or gestational diabetes puts women at risk
for developing gestational diabetes during
pregnancy. ___ Hemophilia is a genetic disease
in which the blood fails to clot normally and
occurs in men. Women pass the disease on to their
sons. If hemophilia runs in your family, you
should talk to a genetics counselor.
