• Preventive Conservation is all about caring
• for collections and involves understanding
• The materials from which artefacts are made i.e.
  metal, glass, paper etc
• The way in which materials degrade
• The impact and management of the environment in
  storage, display transit

• The programme has the following structure
• Semester one is focused on learning the theory
  through lectures, assignments etc
• Semester two is a work based learning experience
  in a museum or gallery during which theory is
  translated into a working knowledge of practise
• Semester three is focused on developing and
  writing the dissertation
