General Information
  • PMS 36 Residency with 1 resident per year
  • Residents taken from all Podiatry Schools
  • The 3 years consists of 12 months of outside
    medical rotations (Internal Medicine, Emergency
    Medicine, Vascular Surgery, Anesthesia,
    Radiology, Pathology, Rheumatology,
    Endocrinology)
  • 2 years of podiatric surgery, clinic, and office
    rotations
  • On-Call time shared amongst all 3 residents

Surgery
  • Residents work closely with over 20 different
    podiatric surgeons/foot and ankle orthopedic
    surgeon
  • Operate out of two teaching hospitals (St.
    Vincent Hospital and UMass Medical Center) and a
    nearby surgical center all within 1 mile of each
    other
  • Average 30 surgeries/week
  • Residents never double scrub cases
  • Immediate hands-on experience encouraged

Clinic
  • Resident-run clinic 2 days/week at UMASS Medical
    Center
  • Post-op Clinic with foot and ankle orthopedic
    surgeon weekly
  • Residents rotate through offices of attendings to
    gain better understanding of private practice
