Title: YEAR THREE
1YEAR THREE
Year Three is like a jigsaw puzzle. When we are
altogether, the puzzle is complete. When just
one of us is missing, the puzzle is incomplete.
We always work together to do our best and we
always work best when we are together!
2P.S.H.E. In our P.S.H.E. lessons, we have been
looking at relationships and thinking about who
we are as individuals how we feel, what we think
and how we differ from others.
Each portion of the head represents how we feel.
We had to use one word to describe our fears, our
aspirations, what makes us happy, what makes us
sad and someone or something we admire. This
activity really made us think about who we are
and we also learnt a great deal about our
classmates.
3PUPIL OF THE WEEK As part of celebrating good
work and responsible behaviour in our class, Miss
Waud chooses three pupils each week to be GOLD,
SILVER and BRONZE medal winners. The winners are
always the children who work the hardest or who
are the best behaved every day of the
week. Congratulations to those children who have
made onto the medal rostrum! We are all trying
our hardest to be the next weeks winner!
4SCIENCE In Science this term, we have been
learning all about light and sound. We have
learnt many new scientific words as this display
shows.
5Before beginning to learn about sound, Miss Waud
asked us to tell her everything we already knew
about the topic. Some of our initial ideas are
written below. Are we right? Will our ideas
change? What else will we learn?
When there is lot of sound, noise pollution forms
Some sound is powerful and can harm your ears.
It can make you deaf
When you blow an instrument it makes a sound.
When you talk you produce sound
Sound travels slower than light
Sounds can have different pitches
Sound comes out in sound waves
6LITERACY
In Literacy, we have been looking at shape poems
and how calligrams are used to add meaning to
words. We made up our own firework poems can
you spy the rockets and the Catherine wheels
flying through the night sky?
