  • A way of consciously knowing how to best help
    student learning in a meaningful way integrating
    the art of teaching with knowledge and
    pedagogical methods optimizing student learning
    an innate or intuitive ability to teach others
    (tacit) not static, can expand or contract over
    time trying to understand and promote how
    multidimensional teaching, learning, and thinking
    is a collective wisdom

Session One
  • Friday - develop and initial understanding of
    what is meant by instructional intelligence
    concepts, skills, tactics, strategies
  • Saturday - develop Concept Attainment as a high
    power instructional strategy dependent on the
    application of less complex skills and tactics
    such as how we frame questions, the use of wait
    time, the use of place mat etc -- and how this
    impacts concepts such as safety, accountability,
    active participation etc

Session Two
  • Friday Practical - discuss how framing questions
    and concept attainment went etc. Share data sets.
  • Friday Theory - Discuss Levels of Use of an
    Innovation - apply it to yourself
  • Saturday Theory - discuss chapter ten where does
    it fit into how you teach now? How does it
    connect to what we have done so far - Discuss
    chapter re Bruner - Discuss thinking
  • Saturday Practical - Interpreting learning
    outcomes/objectives -- how thinking and types of
    thinking connect to learning outcomes
