• sharing knowledge about data between the
  institutes is difficult
• knowledge about data (why and how) is often lost
  when employees leave
• its hard to combine data from one person,
  collected in different studies

• to make it possible for the institutes to
  archive information about studies and more
  specifically the datasets and data processing
  (study-database)
• to archive and document the datasets
• to set up a database system to combine
  information from different studies (participant-
  database or participant-datawarehouse)
