Background Information
  • The focus of this work is to continue the
    Ozone Action Day program.
  • Goals
  • Educate the public about air quality issues.
  • Promote vehicle routine maintenance.
  • Encourage vehicle preventive maintenance.

  • The media campaign has been developed by
    Sherry Matthews Advocacy Marketing, the same
    agency that handles the six-year old, 2 million
    per year state-wide Drive Clean Across Texas
    campaign.

2006 Campaign Budget
  • Air quality budget was 250,000.
  • 163,200 allotted for the Ozone Action Day
    program.

Proposed 2007 Campaign Budget
  • Campaign will run May 1 to September 30.
  • Program budget is an estimated 206,300.
  • The same materials developed in 2006 will be used
    this year.
  • MPO Transportation Policy Board will consider the
    proposal on January 26.
