WISE (Ways to Improve School Effectiveness)
Tool Over the next two years Idaho is shifting
to a new school improvement planning tool called
the WISE Tool. To facilitate a smooth
transition, submission for school improvement
plans has been extended to April 1, 2010. This
year only, schools and districts may choose to
submit plans in the CIP Tool, or in the WISE
Tool. The WISE Tool has many support features
built into the tool that provides schools and
districts with best practice research at their
finger-tips, linked to the areas used for
planning. A number of district and school sites
in Idaho have already begun to work in the WISE
Tool and are discovering all it has to offer.

- A Global Positioning System (GPS)
- Shows where you are relative to your destination
- Provides detailed routes for reaching it
- Adjusts to variations and even accommodates
diversions along the way - But the destination remains constant.
- The WISE Tool works in much the same way, only
for School Improvement.
