Option 1 Pathography the Voice of the Patient

  as well).
• This can be a short story (5 to 10 pages)
• OR a chapter from a longer work
• Browse through on-line sources and books placed

  online).

• Research their fundamental religious beliefs.
• What are their beliefs about illness and healing?
• Use the chapter outlines (online) from the
  Kinsley book to structure your research.
• Choose a short illness narrative (or testimonial)
  by a community member and use it to highlight the
  healing themes in this tradition.
• Be sure to note the ways in which the tradition
  clashes with contemporary medical practices.
