- Hosted the IFCEE 09 Congress Orlando, FL
March 15-19, 2009. - Signed an agreement of cooperation with the
Chinese Geotechnical Society at IFCEE 09. - Established the AGP Certification Program and
inducted its first class of D.GEs at IFCEE 09. - Formed Strategic Task Forces including Annual
Meeting, Practice Journal, Geotechnical
Constructability Report Guidelines. - Formed the Organizational Member Council.
- Formed the Student Presidential Group.

- Approved a Geotechnical Special Publication
honoring Bengt Fellenius, to be published in
March 2012. - Held its first traveling short course in San
Diego, CA. - Established a partnering agreement with the
Earthquake Engineering Research Institute
encouraging the two organizations to work
together to advance their mutual interests in the
mitigation of earthquake hazards. - Created a new Student Endowment Fund to support
the activities of the Student Participation
Committee.
