Title: High Efficiency air cleaning technology' How it works'
1High Efficiency air cleaning technology. How it
works.
AllerAir
Industries
2There are 3 kinds of pollutants in indoor air
today
Dust mites, pet dander (hair, skin flakes,
saliva) mold spores, pollen
Trapped by
True HEPA filter
Formaldehyde, cleaning chemicals, ammonia, radon
gas, tobacco smoke, toxic industrial pollution,
mold mycotoxins
Removed by
MAC-B activated carbon filter
Bacteria and viruses
Sterilized by
UV Lamp
Only AllerAir supplies 3 filtration technologies
to deal with 3 kinds of pollution
3High Efficiency Filtration
The pre-filter traps larger dust particles. Easy
to change by simply pulling it out through the
bottom
Carbon filter
Traps noxious gases and odors Lasts
approximately 24 months in normal residential
use
2 Anti-microbial filters
Suppress any bacteria around the filters
HEPA filter
Traps 99.97 of particles as small as 0.3
microns. Lasts around 5 years. Can be changed
separately from the carbon filter
4Important design features
- The housing is powder coated steel. Most off the
shelf air cleaners are plastic and this may
result in off-gassing of plastic vapors.
- The motors are American made. They are sealed and
have no varnish in the windings which prevents
off-gassing of harmful vapors.
- The filters are sealed with glueless felt gaskets
to maximize filtration.
- Many air cleaners have glued rubber gaskets which
may cause emission of harmful vapors and rubber
odors
- The Carbon and HEPA filters are separate and can
be changed at different intervals. This lowers
operating costs
5Air Flow the 4000 to 8000 models
- Air flow rated at 400 CFM (cubic feet per minute)
- The 4000 to 8000 models have 3 fan speeds
- Turbo for rapid air changes
- High for normal everyday use
- Low for overnight use in the bedroom
- The AllerAir Dual Air Flow System draws air
vertically in through the bottom and distributes
the clean air horizontally at the top.
- This prevents mixing the two air streams and
means that AllerAir units have a larger effective
cleaning range
- The cylindrical shape maximizes air flow within
the unit and avoids stale air getting caught in
corners
6The Importance of Carbon
- Any HEPA air cleaner will trap particles but what
about gases and odors?
Only
- The AllerAir Mass Activated Carbon Bed (MAC-B)
filter will remove noxious gases and odors from
the air you breathe
7How Activated Carbon Works
- The millions of pores in the
- activated carbon provide an
- enormous surface area for
- these chemicals to bond with.
- Adsorption is the process
- where certain chemicals
- are attracted to the activated
- carbon and then bond to it.
- Activated carbon is the
- material used in military
- gas masks
8A few token ounces of carbon is not enough
- The bigger the filter, the
- more chemicals it adsorbs
- and the longer it keeps on
- working.
- AllerAir MAC-B carbon filters
- have from 7 to 48 lbs. and will
- last from 9 to 24 months.
AllerAir Pounds of carbon to adsorb noxious
gases and odors
- Most off the shelf cleaners
- have only a few token ounces
- of carbon sprayed on a mesh.
Off the shelf cleaners A few token ounces
sprayed on a mesh
- Its not enough to have any useful
- long term effect
9HEPA Filtration
- HEPA filters were developed by the Atomic Energy
Commission to filter radio-active particles
- HEPA filtration is used in operating theaters and
clean rooms
- HEPA can filter 99.97 of particles as small as
0.3 microns. Thats the size of some bacteria
- AllerAir HEPA filters are warm rolled to prevent
cracking at the folds
- AllerAir HEPA filters have spacers
- to keep the folds open evenly
- throughout the life of the filter
