  • University-wide center housed in PRFH
  • Offices on both the Medical campus and the Arts
    and Sciences campus to facilitate interdivisional
    collaborations.
  • Funded almost continuously by NICHD since its
    inception in 1971. Recently renewed through 2012.
  • 58 Faculty Associates from 13 departments in 4
    divisions of the University

NICHD Population Centers
  • The Demographic and Behavioral Sciences Branch of
    NICHD has funded a highly regarded Population
    Research Centers program since 1971.
  • There are now 18 NICHD Population Centers funded
    by R24 infrastructure grants, of which the HPC is
    one of the oldest and most established.
  • This program provides a critical core of
    professionals to address emerging questions in
    NICHD priority areas
  • Marriage and family change
  • Fertility and family planning
  • Teen pregnancy
  • Mortality
  • HIV risk and prevention
  • Children and child health.

    applications for NIH and foundation research

    during regularly scheduled hours.
  • Information Suite (BSPH E4643) offers electronic
    access to publications, a conference room, and
    eight hours per week during which a librarian is
    in the suite for consultations
