    ITALIAN INFORMAL VENTURE CAPITAL INVESTORS
  • IBAN is operative since 1999

HISTORY OF IBAN
  • It is an Italian not for profit Association
    born in 1999, through a project promoted by
    European Commision (DG Industry)
  • In Italy, it institutionally represents and
    promotes investment initiatives in the venture
    capital market coming from informal investors,
    usually called Business Angels (BA)
  • IBANs President is both board and executive
    committee member of EBAN, the European
    Association that represents BA Networks in Europe
  • Through its birth, and a close co-operation with
    AIFI (the Association representing the formal
    venture capital in Italy), IBAN has felt up a
    remarkable gap in the italian venture capital
    chain.

IBANS MAIN WORK
  • Since its establishment, IBAN has played a key
    role as linker between Market, Institutions and
    Territory
  • - IBAN
  • Has realised a web site www.iban.it , with an
    average of 6.000 visitors per month
  • Has published a White Book about Entreprise
    Innovation, taking into consideration the
    Europen Lisbon Strategy two significant
    proposals to obtain a formal appointment of BA
    and a better taxation system have also been
    presented at European level and at Italian
    Ministry of Economic Development (D.L. 112/2008,
    art. 3 tax incentives on capital gain
    reinvested in start-up companies)
  • Has realised and/or taken part in more than 300
    seminars and conferences across all Italian
    Regions and abroad
  • Has obtained positive appointments to Italian
    Governement, several local pubblic
    Administrations, CONSOB, Italian Stock Exchange,
    Italian Chamber of Commerce Network, Club Of
    Industrial Districts and to all Business Comminity

IBANS MAIN WORK
  • It associates more than 200 BA having different
    characteristics and possibility to invest and, in
    addition, operative Companies and Institutions
    working to promote and develop SMEs
  • It receives and examines about 300 projects per
    year among them, it selects about 100 projects
    then presented to members
  • It has created twelve regional and tematic BAN
    (Business Angel Networks) and Club, promoting
    matching between demand and offer (between
    projects and BA)
  • It has taken part in all Institutional tables,
    both at national than european level, concerning
    venture capital.

    Angel 2008, in collaboration with KPMG Italia
  • Guide to Business Plan, in partnership with
    AIFI and PriceWaterhouseCoopers - 2002. It has
    then become the standard for the venture
    capital sector in Italy
  • Standard Behaviour handbook for BAN in
    partnership with ISTUD Foundation, 2001
  • The first Study/Book on Informal Venture
    Capital in Italy through the co-operation of
    Professors coming from Seconda Università di
    Napoli

IBANS NETWORK SYSTEM
  • During last years, IBAN has created a strong
    relationship network that links Institutions
    and Economic Operators KnowHow and expertise,
    covering all value chain in the early stage
    phase.
  • In this way, IBAN can really support startup
    entreprises in their growing process.
