The Smelters.

• Lee Sauder and Skip Williams were assisted by
  Theresa Hicks from start to finish! and other UMW
  students during the course of the day
• Smithing of the bloom was done by Lee in a
  purpose-built charcoal-fired hearth at Woods
  Creek Forge in Lexington in Sept./Oct. 2006
• The metal samples are being analysed by
  metallography now and neutron diffraction work
  will be done in Nov. 2006
