Background of SchemaDB Project

• What is a schema in ECG Basic conceptual unit
  in Embodied Construction Grammar
• What has been studied Image schemas, X-schemas,
  Frames, Maps previous work done by Mark Johnson
  and George Lakoff
• Who cares about schemas -- Linguists, cognitive
  scientists, psychologists, computer scientists,
  etc
• Why do we care Metaphorical meaning and
  inference, language learning and use, and machine

Objectives of SchemaDB

• To create a schema database that has friendly
  web-based user interface (UI)
• To formalize schema representation using Embodied
  Construction Grammar (ECG)
• To establish a complete database that consists of
  cross-cultural, cross-language schemas
• To ensure flexibility and security for user
  interaction with database
