Oxy Acetylene WeldingSystem Setup

The oxy-acetylene system is predominantly used
for

• Heating and bending metal
• Heating metal for heat treatment
• Gas welding and brazing
• Cutting

Setup Procedure

• 1. Check to make sure that both needle or torch
  valves on the torch body are closed.

• 2. Check to make sure that both regulator
  adjusting screws are backed out and there is NO
  PRESSURE on the regulators.

Open the acetylene cylinder valve ¼ to ½ turn.

Turn the regulator adjusting screw in (clockwise)
to set the desired pressure.

Open the oxygen cylinder valve all the way.

Turn the regulator adjusting screw in (clockwise)
to set the desired pressure.

Shut Down

• Close acetylene cylinder valve.
• Open the acetylene needle valve on the torch
  until both the working and tank pressure drop to
  zero.
• Close the torch needle valve.
• Back out the regulator adjusting screw.
• Repeat steps 1 thru 4 for oxygen.
