• 53 Action Packages sent out on 8/23/06. Six were
  returned and resent out to another contact within
  the company. Three comments received to date.
• 2004 and 2005 AAR Annual Reports are complete and
  about to be issued.
• 2006 Annual Report is on track and no delays are
  expected.

• Growing source of NAR information.
• Companies are invited to reference this website
  in corporate literature and web pages.
• Also invited to use No NAR logo.
• Dos and Donts and Tank Car Anatomy.

• NAR Recognition Program Grand Slam BOE Hazmat
  Seminar No winners in 2006. Hope for 2007
  winner(s).
• Reminder from AAR QA Committee
• NAR 5800.1 reports involving hardware defects
  (tank, service eqpt., etc.) should also have AAR
  QA 7.1 reports submitted to AAR. This allows
  follow-up actions to be tracked (QA 7.2 and 7.3
  reports).

Ethanol NARs

• Ethanol Statistics
• Ethanol production increasing from 4 billion
  gallons in 2006 to 8 billion gallons by 2008.
• Over 5,000 new tank cars going into service.
• Alcohols Listed 3 in total NARs by commodity
  from 2003-2005 (123 NARs).
• Between 50 and 75 of Ethanol is being shipped
  by rail.
• 68,960 car loads shipped in 2004.

• There are many new shippers entering the industry
  with limited experience in loading and unloading
  tank cars.
• New plant sites are opening weekly.
• The responsibility for NARs should be
  reinforced.
• New Ethanol shippers need to know what resources
  are available, how they can help prevent NARs
  and how to share success stories.
