Connecticuts sampling plan
  • Census
  • Surveys sent to ALL 2,712 families with at least
six months of service as of March 10, 2006.
  • Then a statistically significant, random,
representative, sample was pulled from the
    completed surveys.

Process
7
Statewide Representativeness
  • 712 surveys were completed (26)
  • Hand Delivered 29, Mailed 19
  • From the surveys with impact data, a sample of
384 records was randomly selected to be
    representative based on the race/ethnicities
reported in most recent 618 tables.

Local Representativeness
  • We analyzed race/ethnicity within each local EI
program and compared it to the percent
    distributed
  • Due primarily to small numbers, we determined
that for MOST of the EI programs, we couldnot
    be statistically securein determining
    whetherthe responses wererepresentativeat the
    local level.
