Whilst the process of vetting is individual,
there is no industry precedent to suggest that
the inspection must be individual?

78 of CDI Members use CDI as their prime
system, equating to 32 companies accepting a
single inspection report.

OCIMF/CDI
Two industry organisations, essentially concerned
with different fleets. Both recognise that cross
trading ships are sometimes subjected to
inspection by both OCIMF (SIRE) and CDI. Both
are committed to working together to make as
efficient as possible the SIRE and CDI inspection
schemes.

OCIMF/CDI Harmonization
OCIMF and CDI are actively involved in 1) The
final implementation of the Harmonised
VPQ. 2) Common Training Seminars for
Inspectors. 3) Developing further software
compatibility.
9CDI
OCIMF/CDI Harmonization
Whilst harmonization will simplify the process
of vetting inspections for the tanker industry,
it will not solve your problem of multiple
inspections. Your goal has got to be to
convince the vetting departments of your
charterers, to accept a single inspection report.
