of project management, including breakdown

analysis, and risk management, are described, as
well as the elements that are critical to a

TEPM 6301 or approval of graduate faculty
advisor. Dynamics of project leadership from the
individual, team, and organizational perspective
in achieving improved performance in the
information- or technology-based workplace.
6303 Quality Assurance and Risk ManagementCr.
3. (3-0). Prerequisite TEPM 6301 or consent of
graduate faculty advisor. Overview of the basic
components of risk as they pertain to technical
projects risk identification, risk impact
analysis, risk response planning, mitigating
risk, and risk management techniques. Quality
assurance for technical projects, including total
quality management (TQM), quality control,
building quality into procedures and processes,
and the ISO 9000 perspective on quality. 6304
Contracting and Procurement ManagementCr. 3.
(3-0). Prerequisite TEPM 6301 or consent of
graduate faculty advisor. Defining needs and
requirements, formulating a statement of work,
proposal development, different contract
modalities, sealed bid contracts, negotiated
contracts, the award granting process, monitoring
contract performance, dealing with change orders,

Students demonstrate their ability to complete a
major project that identifies and resolves an
important technology or technology leadership

Prerequisite TEPM 6391 and permission of the
graduate faculty advisor. Students demonstrate
their ability to structure and complete an
integrative project that draws upon the skills
developed in the project management common core
courses and the student's specialization.

privacy, and human well-being are addressed.

international buying strategies to identify
vendors and facilitators for enhanced movement of

Descriptive and inferential statistical methods
including data presentation techniques, various
statistical tests and regression methods.
Regression models specific to clinical and
translational studies will be emphasized. 6320
Fundamentals of Clinical Trials Cr. 3. (3-0).
Prerequisite Graduate standing in TPM or consent
of graduate faculty advisor. Understanding of
experimental design models, methods of
randomization, blinding, developing
interventions, measuring outcomes and adverse
effects, ensuring follow-up, compliance and
post-randomization problems, and working with
pharmaceutical companies. 6330 Analysis and
Management of Clinical Research Data Cr. 3.
(3-0). Prerequisite CLIR 5310. Focus on
selecting the appropriate data management system,
design of research databases, options in data
entry, form and report generation, computer
security, and budgeting for data management
personnel and equipment. 6340 Research Ethics
and Regulatory Issues Cr. 3. (3-0).
Prerequisite Graduate standing in TPM or consent
of graduate faculty advisor. In-depth analysis of
research ethics, law related to the responsible
conduct of human subjects research and regulatory
issues including the relevant federal agencies.
