Current Application

• Develop and Port a Java Application to Zaurus
  (Linux Installed PDA)", the name may look too
  lengthy but the project focuses on all aspects of
  Creating a java application and then porting the
  same to the Linux Installed SL-series Zaurus
  (SL-5500) and making the Java application
  executed over the Linux Installed SL-series
  Zaurus (SL-5500). How Java application has been
  developed. The Java application that would be
  examined is File Search Utility. Currently the
  problem is the Linux Installed SL-series Zaurus
  (SL-5500) doesnt have any search utility built
  into that, which makes it difficult for the user
  to locate any particular file in the Linux
  Installed SL-series Zaurus (SL-5500). The project
  aims to embed the File Search Utility into the
  Linux Installed SL-series Zaurus (SL-5500) which
  was developed using JAVA Swing Programming.
• The work deals with tasks like finding the means
  of porting the Java application over the
  SL-series Zaurus (SL-5500) and the solutions to
  the problems which I will come across when I am
  porting. And also I have to find a way to execute
  the Java Application over the SL-series Zaurus
  (SL-5500). For explaining all the things in
  detail, I am taking the File search utility as an
  example.

• A File Search java application is successfully
  deployed and tested
• on SL-series Zaurus. This association of
  embedded Linux and
• Java technology in the form of File search
  Utility proves to be a
• stepping stone for further work to explore this
  combination for
• future embedded technology. This defines a new
  inclination for
• flexible project deployment. Current embedded
  Linux development
• is focusing on providing more configurable and
  smaller size
• operating system components that improve the
  speed of device
• initialization and resource utilization. When
  coordinated with the
• supremacy of Java. We can exploit this
  combination to design the
• next generation embedded systems, resulting in
  higher reliability,
• availability and Robustness.
