EVANGELISM
  • Gen. 39 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and
said unto him, Where art thou?
  • This is the same question I believe that each of
us will hear at sometime in our lives, Where are
you? This question is asked relative to our
    relationship with God.
  • IF an individual cannot answer that question with
the correct answer, then we recognize he/she is a
lost individual, and it is our responsibility to
insure they know the correct answer.

8
Why the need for World Evangelism?
Dr. McGuire shared in Cleveland the following
  • What is 750,000 miles long, reaches around the
world 30 times and grows 20 miles longer each
    day?
  • The line of people who do not know Jesus Christ
    as their personal Saviour.

Evangelism is Three-DimensionalRev. Pat Ray
It is being, doing and telling the gospel.
  • Evangelism is being
  • the salt of the earth
  • the light of the world
  • the aroma of Christ
  • This is the "being" dimension.
  • Evangelism is
  • fishing for persons
  • bearing fruit that abides forever
  • engaging in the ministry of reconciliation
  • This is the dimension of "doing".

18
Evangelism is Three-DimensionalRev. Pat Ray
It is being, doing and telling the gospel.
  • Evangelism is the
  • proclamation of the gospel
  • bearing witness of Jesus Christ
  • advertising the wonderful deeds of God in Christ
  • This is the telling" dimension.

It is being, doing and telling the gospel.
19
EVANGELISM
  • Evangelism should be a passion rather than
    promotion.
  • It comes from our intimate relationship with the
creator of the universe and His own passion for
each of us to draw near to Him.

20
EVANGELISMPassion gtlt Promotion
  • When evangelism is a passion, it is concerned
primarily with the salvation of a person.
  • When it is promotion, its concern is statistics.

21
EVANGELISMPassion gtlt Promotion
  • When evangelism is a passion,it is used to
    advance the Kingdom of God.
  • When it is promotion, it is used to enlarge an
    institution.

22
EVANGELISMPassion gtlt Promotion
  • When evangelism is a passion, joy and
exhilaration are present in its performance.
  • When it is promotion, pressure and strain exist
    in its application.

23
EVANGELISMPassion gtlt Promotion
  • When evangelism is a passion, it is an exercise
    of the loving heart.
  • When it is promotion, it resorts to
    ecclesiastical gimmickry to achieve religious
    success. -Rev. Pat Ray

24
EVANGELISMWhere and How
  • Where and how are two questions that really
    challenge us today!
  • WHERE
  • First, in our Jerusalem our local cities and
    communities.
  • Acts of kindness open eyes of blindness.
    Jezreel Ministry.
  • Next, our Judea Virginia.
  • Next, our Samaria those who are different in
culture, language, style of living, etc.
  • Next, the uttermost parts of the world.

25
EVANGELISMWhere and How
  • What happened with us in the 80s?
  • The Book of Acts is a picture of the Church in
transition from a local community of believers,
    basically in Jerusalem, religiously close,
somewhat self-centered to a world wide ministry.
  • Driven by the Holy Spirit.
  • The 120 were comfortable together
  • The 120 knew each other
  • The 120 were related by and large to one another

26
EVANGELISMWhere and How
  • HOW
  • Some feel that I have to only reach my community
but I share with you the challenge is
  • to look with Gods vision and
  • to feel with Gods heart and
  • to reach with Gods compassion.

27
EVANGELISMWhere and How
  • God began all of this with one man who was
challenged to look up and count the stars if you
can, and I will make your seed innumerable.
  • I am saying to you today we must lift up our eyes
and look at 2.1 billion who have never heard even
once the wonderful name of JESUS CHRIST.

28
EVANGELISMWhere and How
  • Never forgetting those close by but at the same
time, reaching out to those beyond our own
    borders.
  • A church that only reaches inward and is
concerned about survival is destined to die, but
when you catch the wind of the Spirit, and the
work of the Spirit, you will be blessed beyond
    measure.

29
EVANGELISMWhere and How
  • We are giving away more than we have ever given
to the work of God outside of our own
congregation and I tell you we have more than we
have ever had before because GOD is in the
business of FLOW and not stagnation.
  • We have no other choice but go because He
    commanded us to do so.

30
EVANGELISMWhere and How
  • Lean over, put your ear to His heart and hear the
pounding, the thumping for lost and unreached
    humanity.
  • Romans 116 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of
Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation
to every one that believeth to the Jew first,
    and also to the Greek.
  • Eric Carlsons story-

31
EVANGELISMWhere and How
  • God never created the church for failure but He
empowered that 120 to go in His name. We have the
same power and the same anointing.
  • Heidi Baker is a young woman who dared to obey
the Lord and go to Mozambique and live in a
garbage dump. God has given her hundreds of
children, and then thousands, and God spoke to
her and said, I am going to give you millions,
    entire nations of un-reached people.

32
EVANGELISM
  • NOT ONLY CAN WE ACCOMPLISH THE HARVEST, WE MUST
    REACH THE HARVEST.
