8Idea 1 There comes a crunch time when we have
to choose 1. To be real 2. To get more armour
plated
9Ramin Urban myth? Full-Time MBA You can have
2 out of 3 1. Family 2. Work 3. MBA Post
MBA equivalent You can have 1 out of 3 1.
Family 2. Work 3. Friends/Community
10Ramin Work-Life Balance How to Juggle the
Priorities There are two issues 1 - Not enough
time (in the day) 2 - Not enough awareness /
willingness (bigger picture)
11- We all need help Thank goodness for the service
economy! - Housekeeper / Cleaner
- Nanny / Babysitters
- Personal Trainer
- Chiropractor / Osteopath / Acupuncturist /
Masseuse - Life Coach
- Golf Coach / Yoga Teacher / Guru

12- Idea 2
- We impact everything around us
- this makes being real important
- the ripple effect touches much more than we can
see - everything includes family, friends, community,
nation, globe
13- Idea 3
- Different results require being differently
- Being the same way does not produce different
results sustainably - For things to change first I must change
14- Is Maslows Theory complete garbage?
- Just a theory
- Hierarchy of Needs is ego-centric even
economists have a more sophisticated outlook in
game theory - Can become a major hurdle to happiness and
behaviour change some interesting properties in
pyramids and getting to the top - Happiness?
15- Idea 4
- Maslows hierachy is linear
- Live your life whatever rung of the triangle you
are on
16- Idea 5
- You have to know what is truly important before
you can do anything - your values are simply what is truly important to
you - get clear on your top 3 or 4 values or more
- it is wise to connect with this every day
- peoples lives reflect their value system
- your true values will out
- values can be shifted by the individual
- values sustain us
17- Idea 6
- Linking your have-tos to your love-tos
- have-tos can create resentment
- love-tos create the appreciation
- Stress is the tension between the two
Love Tos
Stress!
Have Tos
18- Ramin Major issues and experiences
- Ask for Help
- Dont put off real life There will be time for
this later, when I - You are here to do more than work and be present
for your family there is the broader social
community and environment - Greed leads to isolation and other fairly
predictable outcomes, lack of focus on financial
planning will also lead to predictable outcomes - Coping with disappointment is the true test
- Role models may be hard to find so you have to be
one - Dont forget exercise and fitness
19- Idea 7
- Work-life balance starts with what is in the
mind. To achieve the life you want, think, act
and be as if.
