  • Primary Objective
  • To ensure minimum health and safety in and around
    buildings

  • BO s.14(1) - Prior approval consent
  • Save as otherwise provided, no one shall commence
    or carry out any building works without prior
    approval and consent from Building Authority
  • BO s.2 - Building Works
  • Includes any kind of building construction, site
    formation works, ground investigation in the
    scheduled areas, foundation works, repairs,
    demolition, alteration, addition and every kind
    of building operation, and includes drainage works

Exemption from BO s.14(1)
  • BO s41(1) - Exempted Buildings
  • BO s41(3) s41(3A) - Exempted works
  • Building works (other than drainage works, ground
    investigation in the scheduled areas or site
    formation works) not involving the structure of
    any building
  • Drainage works for any existing building

  • BO s.4(1) Appointment of AP RSE
  • Every person for whom building works are to be
    carried out shall appoint
