Working with Children Bill 2005
  • Screening process intended to reduce the risk of
    sexual or physical harm to children
  • WWCC must be obtained by all employees and
    volunteers engaged in child-related work

  • Four proposed exemptions
  • Volunteer whose child participates in the
    activity
  • Persons working with closely related child
  • Volunteers with limited contact (4 times in a
    12-month period)
  • Exemption for children under the age of 14
  • Lodge application to a new agency
  • Give consent for police check, checking of
    relevant professional bodies
  • Provide identifying information
  • Cost - 50 - 120 per person
