What are Greenhouse Gases (GHG)?

  • This report tracks 3 principle GHG carbon
    dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane
  • Expressed as equivalent CO2 (eCO2)
  • Measured in tonnes of GHG emissions

  • Energy consumption increased 39 between 1990 and
    2003
  • Energy costs increased 51
  • Emissions increased 24
  • Emissions per thousand square meters increased
    from 122 to 157 tonnes GHG

  • Energy consumption and emissions decreased by 5
  • Fleet size increased from 564 to 748 vehicles
  • Great work with Right sizing

  • Energy Consumption decreased by 5
  • GHG emissions decreased by 14

Water Wastewater Treatment
  • Energy use increased 86 between 1990 and 2003
  • Expenditures increased 91
  • GHG Emissions increased 85
  • Electricity accounted for almost 14,000 of the
    16,500 tonne increase
  • Wastewater treatment operations were
    significantly expanded to improve overall water
    quality
