TENNIS SCORING
Tennis scoring is different to many other sports.
In Tennis to win a game you would have to win
four points 15, 30, 40 and game. To win a set
you would have to be the one to win six games
first. For men singles it is normally first to 3
sets. For women singles its first to 2 sets. For
doubles its first to 2 sets.

FOREHAND
The forehand in tennis is one of the weapons for
a tennis player as it is a natural stroke which
is on of the easiest shots in tennis. It is done
by the racquet swinging across the body where it
is then placed wherever the player wants the ball
to go on the tennis court. The forehand normally
generates more power than the backhand.

BACKHAND
The backhand is a difficult shot then it looks as
it is hit by the racquet swinging away from the
body to where they want the ball to land. To do a
backhand you may use a one hand or two hand
backhand. For some people it might be the case
that they cant generate as much power with a one
handed backhand.
Roddick hits a stretched backhand
Mauresmo hits a backhand
6
VOLLEY
A volley is a shot normally played at the net. It
is hit before the ball bounces. Too do the shot
the racquet should go half way across your body.
When hitting a volley at the net it allows you to
have a wider range of where to hit the ball, but
you should have good reflexes. When at the net,
it gives the opponent less time to get to the
ball, if the opponent is at the baseline.

SERVE
A serve is the shot to start a point. There are
many types of serves such as a kick serve, flat
serve, slice serve (etc). To do a serve, you
should toss the ball into the air and hit it down
into the opponents service box on the first
bounce. Many players are masters a serves as
they score points by doing aces (serving the ball
without the opponent touching the ball with their
racquet).
