• There are jobs like medical receptionists,
  medical librarians, medical billers
• There are jobs in pharmacy, chemistry,
  engineering
• There are jobs in therapy, emergency medicine

• There are jobs in dentistry, and other medical
  specialties
• There are jobs in health insurance, health
  promotions and health journalism
• There are literally hundreds of choices, for all
  kinds of interests

How do I prepare?

• Save all your important paperwork
• Take the standardized tests that are expected of
  you, like the PSAT and SAT
• Study and do your homework
• Follow our tips tricks

Little tips

• Take math and science classes all four years of
  high school, plus AP, if you can
• Learn anatomy and physiology
• Psychology and sociology are great, too
• Read about the type of career you want make
  sure you are looking at the right place to go
  after high school
• If you have trouble with classwork, join or
  create a study group

• Meet with your guidance counselor, even if you
  dont have to
• Join clubs and groups that relate to health
• Volunteer your time at a health related place
• Learn to write papers well this is important in
  college
• Look for an after school or summer job in health
  care
• If your school has technical classes, like CNA
  prep, take them

  we want to help you do your best
• AHEC offers health career exploration through our
  REACT programs and also events that focus on
  health careers and topics

  where you will find info and a calendar of
  upcoming events. We change and update this stuff
  all the time, so come back often!
• www.reactri.com is the site for the REACT
  programs. You can go there to apply for REACT,
  to learn about various health careers, and to
  keep in touch with other people who are
  interested, too
• www.waytogori.org is the coolest new site out
  there for career planning and college info.
  There are all sorts of things you can try that
  will help you to figure out what kind of job you
  might want, what college to go to, how to prepare
  and financial aid!!
