Postgraduate Diploma of Landscape Architecture Per
u My lecturers are like friends, which is very
different to what Im used to. This creates a
great atmosphere and encourages you to explore
topics of personal interest. Landscape
architecture is an emerging profession back home,
so it has been great to study it in Australia
where the theories and design skills are much
more developed and have global relevance.

Lisa Rickards
Study Abroad student, USA Home institution The
College of the Holy Cross Melbourne is a social
city. Coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, and a
plethora of shopping areas make it a great city
to meet with friends and have a good time. There
is so much to do. Going to a footy game is
amazing, and visiting places like Crown Casino,
the Queen Victoria Markets, and Federation Square
are things not to be missed.
28
Githa Postma
Exchange student, Netherlands Home institution
University of Amsterdam The lectures and
tutorials are more interactive, students are
asked to participate more. Also I like the
practical approach in the tutorials, with all the
cases being discussed. There are more contact
hours than my study back home, and also way more
group assignments and papers to write. But most
lecturers and tutors are very dedicated to help
you learn about the subject and pass it.
29
Simon Laflamme

located in the heart of a fast-paced city.
Something amazing about the University of

Australian culture integrated with a
competitive academic environment. Lecturers
are easy-going with students and you feel a
sincere interaction between both.

Swedish University I like the big campus with
all the green areas/parks. You can get almost
anything you need at campus and that there is so
much to do. The gym is located at campus it
makes it so easy to workout when you can do it
before, after or in between classes. There are so
many clubs and societies and there is so much
going on all the time and there are always people
around.
