1COURSE SELECTION INFORMATION PROCESS

REQUIRED for graduation
3English and Social Studies
- Seniors English 4 or English elective
- (AP English Literature is offered)
- Juniors English 3 and US History
- (AP English Language and AP US History are also
offered) - Sophomores Humanities 2
- (English 2 and Blueprints for America)
4Math
- Math is sequential and, as a result, certain
classes need to be taken in order. - Ask your math teacher which course level is
right for you. - All students need a minimum of (3) math credits,
including Algebra 1, to graduate.
5Math Courses
- Pre-Algebra
- Algebra 1
- Geometry
- Algebra 2
- Consumer Math
- Advanced Math Topics (extension)
- Discrete Math
- Pre-calculus
- Calculus or AP Calculus (can not take both)
- Statistics or AP Statistics (can not take both)
6Science
- 1 credit Physical Science and 1 credit Life
Science (Biology) is needed to graduate. - Biology is the prerequisite for most science
classes. - We strongly encourage all students to continue
the study of science. College admissions require
at least three to four years of study.
7World Language
- If you are planning to attend college, most
colleges want to see a proficiency of at least 3
years in a languagethis means you should
complete French 3, German 3, Latin 3 or Spanish
3. - Progression to the next year of study in a world
language course depends on the results of an exit
exam. - If you choose to take AP Spanish or AP French,
remember these are semester courses worth 1
credit.

- Students must select EXACTLY 8 credits. Once
you post your request you will not be able to
change your request. - Students must select 2 alternative classes.

- Choose electives that fulfill graduation
requirements if you have not yet satisfied
certain requirements. - Make sure that you have taken required
pre-requisites, if necessary. - Choose alternatives wiselyalternatives often

33Dates to remember
- On-line course selection runs from March 16th
through March 27th. - Students will not be able to access the on-line
selection after March 27, 2009. - Junior Parent College Night April 2nd at 600
