  • Do improve that which is valued by your
    customers.

  • Dont expect people to collaborate if you manage
    their performance person by person.
  • Do manage the performance of teams.

Set Challenging Targets
  • Dont do performance management unless you are
    ready to risk failure.
  • Do publicly set performance goals even ones you
    arent sure you can reach.

Experimentation is the engine of innovation
  • Dont try to centrally control what is done even
    when you are certain you know what works.
  • Do let your people hypothesize about how
    performance can be improved use data to test
    hypotheses.

  • Do expect performance to improve a little bit
    every day.
