Overview of Setting Up And Using Item Categories
for Pricing
Item Categories can be setup and used
specifically for pricing purposes. These
categories can be different from the Item
Categories used for Inventory and/or Purchasing
Item Categories. Setup includes creating and/or
compiling a specific Item Category Key Flexfield
to be used for Pricing, then assigning this
structure as the Default Category Set to the
functional area used by Pricing. Valid Category
Codes also need to be entered before items can be
assigned to the Pricing Category. Pricing
Categories can then be used to enter, copy,
and/or adjust Price Lists. Line Level Modifiers
for pricing adjustments can also use the Pricing
Category. By using Pricing Categories,
maintenance of price lists and modifier setup can
be completed more efficiently.
