Hudson River Crossing, LLCOverview

• Most major data centers in New York City are
  connected to data centers located across the
  river in New Jersey. These connections are
  critical in the distribution/transmission of data
  and/or telecommunications throughout the country.
  A disruption of the service in any of the
  crossings could lead to a situation in which
  customers, revenues, and major contracts could be
  lost. Through a less exposed, redundant, and
  diverse crossing, Hudson River Crossing, LLC
  offers an alternative connectivity option, which
  should be very attractive to members of the
  telecommunications industry.
• Prior to 9/11, HRC was already pursuing its
  project because it believed that carriers would
  welcome an alternative for their
  telecommunications/data transmission systems
  crossing the Hudson River. 9/11 only served to
  emphasize the need.
• A large portion of the industry today is
  utilizing the Holland/Lincoln/Path Tunnel
  crossing for primary as well as back-up systems.
  9/11 highlighted the vulnerability of these
  crossings, and our newly completed Directional
  Bore, a state of the art, telecom/data conduit
  system, offers a superior and less exposed Hudson
  River crossing alternative.
• Quite apart from security risks, diversity and
  redundancy have long been requirements of the
  industry. Alternate routings, such as ours, are
  vastly preferable to the alternative of running
  primary and back-up cable through the same
  tunnels.
• Based on comparable available 864 pair crossings,
  we offer an extremely cost effective alternative.

Real Estate

• Hudson River Crossing, LLC acquired the property
  rights and performed a directional bore between
  New York City (Manhattan) and New Jersey
  (Weehawken). On the New York side, the landing
  location is Pier 78 at 12th Avenue (West Side
  Highway and 37th Street). The landing location
  in Weehawken is the Port Imperial South, LLC
  property, at Port Imperial Boulevard. A 16
  steel casing was placed under the Hudson River
  and contains (36) 1.5 inner ducts for use by the
  telecommunications and cable industry.

Public Access

• Access to the public rights of way was considered
  as part of the overall design and engineering of
  this project. HRC, LLC has placed a multi-duct
  conduit system along Port Imperial Blvd. to the
  north where it will intersect the Pershing Road
  overpass (Public ROW) with 3 termination points.
  A 10x10x8 manhole is placed at this intersection.

• To the south, the system will terminate at the
  adjacent New Jersey Transit Rights of Way,
  Verizon Conduit System and future Baldwin Avenue
  utility corridor. (See engineering prints for
  details)
• On the Manhattan side, an 8x12x6 manhole is
  placed at the edge of easement area and adjacent
  to 12th Avenue and the Bike Path. Empire City
  Subway as well as Con Edison has a multi-duct
  system along 12th Avenue. By utilizing either of
  the above systems, a carrier can access all of
  Manhattan. (See engineering prints for details).
