• Christians agree there is life after death but
  are divided as to exactly what form it will take

• Believe that Jesus was resurrected rose from
  the dead
• Church creeds teach that Jesus was raised from
  the dead
• All Christian churches teach there is life after
  death
• Belief in life after death gives meaning and
  purpose to their lives
• Some accept paranormal evidence as proof

• St. Marks gospel the angel said, Ye seek
  Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified He is
  risen!
• St. Paul said in the book of Corinthians that
  Christ died for our sins ..and that He appeared
  to Peter.

• Belief in judgement the reward of the good and
  the punishment of the evil gives a sense of
  purpose to life on earth
• This achieves justice (fairness and the
  maintenance of what is right) for all

• Some believe in the resurrection of the body a
  spiritual body
• All believe that God judges us

Christians and life after death

• Resurrection- the belief that, after death, the
  body is raised to a new life.
• Some people believe that the body stays in the
  grave until the end of the world and then it is
  raised

• Immortality of the soul - the idea that the soul
  lives on after the death of the body and will
  never die
• Judgement the belief that god will judge us on
  our beliefs and actions and reward or punish us
  on judgement day the last day

  Christians believe in life after death
• For homework explain each point on this diagram
• Answer questions on sheet. These will enable you
  describe and explain why some Christians believe
  in the soul surviving death and why others
  believe in the resurrection of a spiritual body
• You also need to be able to explain the belief in
  judgement, on what people will be judged, reward
  and punishment, and who will be allowed into
  heaven
