Seven Strong Claims about School Leadership
School leadership is second only to classroom
instruction as an influence on student
learning. Almost all successful (school) leaders
draw on the same repertoire of basic leadership
practices. It is the enactment of the same basic
leadership practices not the practices
themselves that is responsive to the
context. School leaders improve pupil learning
indirectly through their influence on staff
motivation and working conditions. School
leadership has a greater influence on schools and
pupils when it is widely distributed. Some
patterns of leadership distribution are much more
effective than others. A small handful of
personal traits explain a high proportion of
the variation (such as being open minded,
flexible, persistent and optimistic) in leader
effectiveness.

in a drawer for an IPod 12 students eligible in
September / 48 in October If students achieve
FFT B target grades in Mocks then in drawer
for IPod If D grades are achieved then Prom
ticket is paid for Coursework In INSET any
student not up to date with C/W attended school
to catch up. A C/W clinic was introduced after
school, between 3pm and 7pm. (Night Club) A
Macdonalds was brought in as an attraction to
stay. Revision Study Leave was abandoned for both
the actual and mock GCSE examinations. After
mocks a results day was held to give a flavour
of the meaning of success

Fact 1 As each Goose flaps its wings, it creates
an uplift for the bird that follows. By flying in
a V formation, the whole flock adds 71 greater
flying range than if each bird flew alone. Fact
2 When a Goose falls out of formation, it
suddenly feels the drag and resistance of flying
alone. It quickly moves back into formation to
take advantage of the lifting power of the bird
immediately in front of it. Fact 3 When a Goose
gets sick, wounded or shot down, two Geese drop
out of formation and follow it down to
help and protect it. They stay until it
dies or is able to fly again. Then they launch
out with another formation or catch
up with the flock.
